Anchors: Ava and Sarina
Seniors: Esmie needs a short clip of each of you for the senior graduation video! It could be anything that you want to highlight about your senior year. Please keep it short, less than 10 seconds. She needs it by May 14th. Please email it to her ASAP! If you need to look at an example, check your email as she included one for you to view.
Seniors: On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, seniors will have the opportunity to partake in a new tradition here
at VCHS. Students will leave VCHS around 10:15 and be driven up to Priscilla Pennyworth’s
Old Time Photo Studio. Students will then participate in dressing up and taking an old time
photo as the graduating class of 2025. Check your email for the permission slip. The permission slip is due no later than May 12th.
Friday May 30th will be a short Friday schedule. Students will attend their 1st, 2nd. 3rd, and 4th periods. Seniors, you will be called to the Commons at 10:30, and you must bring your cap and gowns. You will then do your walk through at Gallagher and VCMS and meet at the picnic. 9-11th graders will be called up to get loaded onto the bus starting at 10:45. The picnic at the park will be from 11-12:45. When students return from the picnic, staff and students will head straight to the football field for the Senior/Kinder exchange at 1:00. Students will be released at 1:43. However for seniors, There will be a Mandatory senior graduation rehearsal at 2:00.
The Burrito Fundraiser for the senior class is Saturday, May 31 (Graduation Morning). Burritos will be for sale and this final fundraiser is crucial. Volunteers are needed to help with both making and selling the burritos. The senior class representatives understand that many of you will have family arriving for graduation, but the good news is that all will be finished by 10:00 AM, so there will still be plenty of time for you to spend with your family. You are asked to Please pitch in so that this event will get done quickly and efficiently.
Senior Sunset will be May 23rd at Lake Tahoe. The details will be finalized soon, so keep an eye out for updates.
Cheer Tryouts are Wed, May 7 in the Gym from 5-7 pm
Softball has made it to regionals and will be competing this Friday and Sat in Hawthorne. They will play Pyramid at 10:00 and either Hawhtorne or Wells that afternoon. If they win one of these games, they will also play Saturday. If they are able to advance after this weekend, they will advance to state in Vegas the following Friday and Sat.
In golf, Dalton Fain made it to state. He will compete next Tuesday and Wednesday.
Track will be competing in regionals this Friday and Saturday at Douglas High School. At least a few of these athletes will make it to state which will be in Vegas next Friday the 16th and Saturday the 17th. Go MUCKERS!
Wed May 14th is Senior Scholarship Night at 5:30 in the Commons
Education day is Thursday, May 22nd. Buses will leave at 9:30 and return at 2:20. Lunch vouchers will be provided. Students who have any F’s will remain at VCHS to work on missing assignments.
This week's lunch menu is as follows: Monday is Chicken Salad, Tuesday is a Hot Ham & Cheese Sandwich w/ Fries, Wednesday is a Corn Dog w/ Fries, Thursday is Orange Chicken w/ Chow Mein & Fried Rice, and Friday is Pizza w/ Fries.
