Senior Spotlight

This week’s Senior Spotlight shines on Lila Fronk, who has been part of the Storey County School District for the past two and a half years. Lila participated in football cheer during her senior year, and before attending VCHS she had been involved in choir since middle school.During her time at VCHS, Lila has become an essential part of the choir program and has achieved an impressive amount in just two years. She was selected as a alto section leader and qualified for All-State Choir her junior year. This year, she continues to shine as the soprano section leader, with hopes of making it to All-State once again. Outside of school, Lila enjoys horseback riding, drawing, painting, and spending time with friends and with her boyfriend, Brody, who she says is her biggest supporter. Her favorite high school memories come from her accomplishments in choir over these past two years. After graduation, Lila plans to attend cosmetology school.

Student council has brought back Buddy the Elf and he has brought some friends this year to join. Everyday three Christmas characters will be hidden around the school, and it is your job as the students of Virginia City High School to find them. The three characters that will be hiding are Buddy the Elf, Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, and Mr. Snowman. Buddy will be the easiest to find, for he wants to spread Christmas cheer, Rudolph will be a bit more difficult to find for his red nose tends to give his hiding place away, and Mr. Snowman will be the most difficult of all. Each character can be found ONCE a day starting next Monday and running through the end of the semester. Searching can only occur before school, during nutrition and lunch, and during passing periods. Students found searching during class time will be assigned lunch detention. Once a student has found a character, they are to bring the character to Isabela Cruz in the office during nutrition or lunch to receive their prize.  Buddy - 1 candy cane, Rudolph - 2 candy canes,Mr. Snowman - big candy.Student council is kindly asking that STUDENTS NOT STEAL OR DESTROY THE CHARACTERS. If characters are stolen or destroyed the game will sadly end. Let's celebrate the holiday season with this fun VCHS tradition.

If you have any questions, please see Isabela Cruz.
