Senior Spotlight

Grace Wackerly

This week, we’re proud to shine the spotlight on Grace Wackerly! A dedicated student, Grace has spent her entire academic journey in Storey County Schools and is currently excelling as a JumpStart student with an impressive 4.6 GPA. Throughout her time at Virginia City High School, Grace has been actively involved in both academics and extracurriculars. She has played volleyball and softball for all four years and is a two-year member of the JumpStart program. Grace is also a proud member of the National Honor Society, where she currently serves as Vice President. Her hard work and talent have earned her multiple athletic honors, including: 1st Team All-League in Softball and Volleyball (Junior Year) and 2nd Team All-League in Softball and Volleyball (Sophomore Year).

Outside of school, Grace enjoys snowboarding, baking, paddle boarding, traveling, and spending quality time with her family. Some of her favorite memories at VCHS include the excitement of homecoming football games and the unforgettable freshman year assembly featuring Mr. Beckwith’s hype talk and Mr. Johnson’s legendary karaoke performance.

Looking ahead, Grace plans to complete her Associate of Business degree at WNC before transferring to the University of Nevada, Reno. Her ultimate goal is to earn her Bachelor's in Business and become a certified accountant/CPA.
